This website belongs to Lian Storme and is run by Pero Hattingh. We respect your privacy and only collect what we need. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Who is responsible
The responsible party and information officer is Pero Hattingh. You can reach him at perohattingh@lianstorme.com or +27 76 187 6112.
What we collect
- Contact form: your first name, last name (optional), email address and message.
- Mailing list: your email address, if you choose to join.
- Basic technical data: a temporary record of your IP address when you send a form, used only to block spam and abuse.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
Why we use it
- To reply to your message about collaborations, licensing or anything else you ask.
- To send you news about new music, if you joined the mailing list. Every email has a way to unsubscribe.
- To keep the website secure and free of spam.
Where it is stored
Form messages and mailing list sign-ups are stored securely with Supabase, our database provider. The website is hosted by Cloudflare. Both may process data outside South Africa, under their own security and data protection terms. We keep contact messages only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry, and mailing list addresses until you unsubscribe.
Embedded content
Some pages include players from Spotify and YouTube. YouTube videos only load when you press play, and use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode. Once a player loads, Spotify or YouTube may collect data under their own privacy policies. Links to Instagram, Facebook and streaming services take you to those platforms, which have their own policies.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to us using it, or unsubscribe from the mailing list at any time. Email perohattingh@lianstorme.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not happy with our response, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforegulator.org.za).
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
